After graduating with honors from The Ohio State University College
of Law in 1987, Dan served four years active duty in the Judge
Advocate General (JAG) Corps of the U.S. Navy. After leaving
active duty, Dan practiced law as an Assistant Wayne County Public
Defender, after which he accepted a position as an Assistant Wayne
County Prosecutor. Dan
left the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office in 1995 to accept a
position with the firm.
Dan currently is a partner at Kropf, Wagner, Lutz, & VanSickle, LLP,
where he practices in a variety of areas of law.
Dan also currently serves as the Orrville City Law Director
and as a Captain in the Reserve component of the U.S. Navy. He
has served as the commanding officer of two Reserve Navy JAG units.
He is a certified General Court-Martial Military Judge and is
currently serving in the Navy Reserve as an Appellate Judge on the
Navy & Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals.
Dan
also serves his community on the Dunlap Community Hospital Board of
Trustees. Past
community service includes serving as President of the Board of
Trustees for Kingsway Christian School, President of the Board of
Trustees for the Orrville-Dalton YMCA, President of the Board of
Trustees for the Orrville Exchange Club, and President of the Board
of Trustees for Main Street Orrville, Inc. He has also served
on the Orrville Salvation Army Board, on the Wayne County Children
Services Director's Advisory's Board, and as an acting judge at the
Wayne County Municipal Court. Dan
and his wife, Theresa, live in Orrville with their two sons, Ken and
Reagan.
