Stephen D. Bittinger
Stephen joined the firm in 2010 after practicing defense
litigation in the areas of tort and professional liability with a
law firm in Cleveland.
Stephen graduated with honors from Kent State University with a
Bachelor degree in Integrated Language Arts, where he was a
four-year varsity letterman in wrestling and a Presidential Scholar
Athlete. Thereafter, he taught high school English and coached high
school wrestling and football. While teaching, Stephen earned a
Master degree in English from John Carroll University.
Stephen received his Juris Doctorate from the University of
Akron School of Law, while working as a legal administrator for an
Ohio-based international law firm. During law school, he earned his
Law Certificate in Litigation, Trial Advocacy, and Dispute
Resolution, received the CALI award for the highest grades in Trial
Advocacy and School Law, completed a Federal Civil Rights Trial
Practicum under Chief Judge James G. Carr of the Federal District
Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and was a judicial extern
for the Honorable Anthony O. Calabrese, Jr. of the Eighth District
Court of Appeals of Ohio.
Stephen practices primarily in the areas of
domestic relations, personal injury, workers’ compensation, and
business litigation. Stephen has successfully litigated cases
before numerous Ohio Courts of Common Pleas, Ohio Courts of Appeal,
and the Supreme Court of Ohio. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar
Association and Wayne County Bar Association.
He and his wife, Jenni, a special education teacher, have two sons,
Sheridan and Luke
