Matthew D. Simpson

Matt was born and raised in Wayne County and is a graduate of Rittman High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Akron in 2011, and his Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2015, where he was awarded a Law Justice Scholarship, an OSBA Litigation Section Fellowship, and the Steven LaTourette Public Interest Fellowship. While at Cleveland-Marshall, Matt was an active member of the Criminal Law Society, and worked as an extern for the Transactional Law Clinic. During Matt’s last two years of law school he gained valuable legal skills while working at the Cuyahoga County Public Defender’s office. Matt is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Wayne County Bar Association, and he continues to volunteer with the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland. Matt and his wife, Katherine, who is pursuing her Master of Library and Information Science degree, are active members of Sacred Heart Church in Wadsworth. They are looking forward to moving back to the Wayne County area soon.
